We encourage all who attend The Vine to engage in God-directed service to a world hungry for love, compassion and truth — to our neighbors nearby and around the globe. We want to hand future generations the legacy of our having been faithful stewards of the lives, resources and callings given to each of us. If you need financial assistance for a mission project please click here to complete and submit an application at least three months prior to the project.
service to members and visitors of our immediate church family
Sunday mornings at The Vine are active as we volunteer for children’s ministry, welcome teams, media, liturgists, coffee/tea makers, musicians and handy setter-uppers.
Small groups meet for trimesters of 6 to12 weeks in length. We consider Vinelife groups (and you being in one) a crucial part of Vine of the Mountains’ DNA. These groups provide study, prayer support, and loving encouragement through life’s seasons. Each trimester offers a different focus for study. If you would like to know more about joining a small group, please email Chase.
A Prayer Team meets every week to pray for the concerns submitted to them through emails, texts and Sunday morning requests.
Outdoor celebrations/picnics, whether it’s The Vine’s birthday, Easter, or no reason at all.
Women’s Ministry includes an annual weekend retreat, Christmas Tea, weekly coffee time at Panacea, and Bible studies.
Men’s Ministry includes the annual Men’s Advance (because men don’t retreat), weekly Monday morning coffee gathering, and the occasional man-meal cookout.
JOY Group (Just Older Youth) Our retired/semi-retired members enjoy fellowship in service, shared meals and cultural events.
The Vine’s Church-wide Retreat, during which we travel a short distance away to spend the weekend enjoying meals, special guest leaders, worship, great fun and unhurried time together.
service in and around our parish of Haywood County, often alongside other churches, non-profits or individuals
Open Door - A team from The Vine cooks and serves lunch to those in need at the Open Door in Frog Level every 4th Wednesday of the month.
We support Haywood Christian Ministries who care for many needy in our community.
The Vineival is a ministry providing for local elementary students. Each year we host a carnival where registered students are invited to come play and eat. Each student receives a new backpack and needed school supplies for the coming year.
The Little Free Pantry our children built is installed at 489 Pigeon Street. We help keep it loaded up with non-perishables.
We collect tissues and disinfecting wipes twice annually for Hazelwood Elementary and encourage participation in the postal service food drive.
We support Haywood Pathways and are learning of new avenues to serve families in need through this ministry.
Staff member, Wende Goode, works with individuals who contact the church for many types of help and support. She also can connect you with a variety of opportunities for local service.
We encourage every member of The Vine to support ministries which help care for our nearby neighbors.
Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child is a gospel-centered outreach we have supported for many years. Each year, our goal is to touch as many lives as possible by packing shoeboxes with Christmas gifts for children who otherwise wouldn’t receive gifts and might not otherwise hear, “I love you and God loves you. Merry Christmas!
Compassion International - The Vine is a Compassion Partner. Many of our members sponsor children all over the world through Compassion International, providing monthly support for food, medical care, Bible teaching, and clothes/gifts in collaboration with a local church in each child’s community.
YWAM – We send and support missionaries through Youth With A Mission who share the love of God and make Him known throughout the world. Our current YWAM missionaries are Richard and Amy Fish, Dan and Desiree Snyder, and Mason Stephens.
We encourage every member of The Vine to engage with ministries which look and reach far beyond our own doorstep.
