Responsibility Summary* for Director of Children's Ministry

This is a part-time position with an expected weekly workload of 20-24 hours. Compensation offer will be determined by applicant's qualifications and experience.

Direct weekly preparation and implementation of children's ministry programs for our children of nursery age through 6th grade (Nursery, LifeLessons, Climbers). At this time, the LifeLessons program, pre-K through 4th grade, begins approximately 20 minutes into our 90 minute worship service.

Provide volunteer leaders with curriculum/lesson and supplies each month.

Train and equip those same leaders to teach well.

Participate regularly in actual teaching and leadership of children.

Recruit, develop and schedule children's ministry volunteers.

Plan and oversee set up of clean, safe and inviting learning environments for children on Sunday mornings.

Communicate pertinent weekly information regarding children's ministry to congregation through newsletter (via Director of Communications).

Participate with fellow staff members in weekly staff meetings.

Maintain current child and family information, including parent contact and child allergy information.

Secure and update background checks on all active nursery workers and teaching volunteers.

Qualifications: A vibrant and growing faith in Jesus Christ. College degree. Training and experience in Christian education or related ministry field. Ability to communicate well in verbal and written communication. Creative, positive and biblically faithful approach toward all aspects of children's ministry.
